Saturday morning Sydney had "evaluations" for basketball which she will start playing in January (practices start in December!)! She did really well for a beginner. It's a program called UPWARD which is church based and organized through a local Baptist church....though open to all kids! It promotes good sportsmanship and learning the game over winning...which should be great for Sydney.
After that...Sydney and I made teddy bear cookies from a recipe (in a pack) that we bought from Sally Foster sales at school this year. They turned out yummy and cute...see picture below. Then later that night...Sydney went to a halloween "bunk in" at Powersports for a night of kid fun. It was from 8pm to 8am...boys and girls...so I was a little cautious...but I knew they would have adults there monitoring everyone. She said they stayed up till 1am...and even then...some middle schoolers were being loud all night in a corner. This is a place that does gymnastics and dance...and though Syd is in niether...she does go to their "kid's night out" on Friday nights occassionally so we can have date night once in a while! She even had her 7th birthday party there....she loves it. Sydney's is a Pirate this year for halloween...see pic below of her ready for the bunk in.
Then Sunday our church was having a halloween party during RE (religious education)...so she donned the costume yet again. They also trick or treated around the congregation for change for their unicef boxes to donate. Afterward we came home and just zoned out till the boys got home! We were tired!
