Sydney-Service Learning Project

Sydney participated in another service learning project this past weekend for her class. They have gathered blankets and food for previous activities. This time they were ringing the salvation army bell outside the Macy's at our mall. She and her classmates were so excited to get to participate! Syd was even afraid that our plans to attend her cousin's bday party that day in Austin would cancel her plans...but we worked out a time when she could still work. They only took on 2 students for 30 minutes at a time...so she didn't get bored or tired of it. I think the salvation army should have recruited children a long time ago...I bet they took in more money than all the other bell ringers around the mall combined. :) Kids are just too cute to pass up. Here's a couple pictures. The classes also made little Christmas cards to hand out to each person who donated money...which was especially cute. Note that Sydney HAD to bring her bear with her...in his christmas pj's.
