Austin Visit

This past weekend I decided to take the kids to Austin to visit my sister and brother (and their significant others). Chad, Sally and Iris came over Saturday night bringing yummy pizza, veggies and cookies and we had a nice time hanging out. My sister had told me about the Zilker Kite Festival and it sounded like fun to me! Chad and crew were not able to make it out , but we had a pretty nice time - GREAT weather! Sydney's dragon kite pretty much sucked and would not get up in the air to save it's life! It seemed to want to be a "trick" kite and would weave and bob and then dive into the ground on EVERY attempt! hehe. Sydney got pretty frustrated at some point, but Aunt Mauri gave her the sponge bob kite instead and she flew it for quite a while along side Dale and his shark kite! There were a million people there and it was pretty tough to keep the kites from tangling with one another...and random people would bump into you as they were walking backwards trying to get their kites up! The worst thing was the lines for food. We decided we would eat there, but every booth was lined up 30 people or more long! Sydney also played in a couple of the inflatable bouncers...a princess one and a worm one where you go in the mouth and come out the butt...weird! Those lines were pretty long as well, but they gave the kids about 5 minutes to jump so it moved relatively quickly. Anyway...here are some pictures!

This one was a huge dog...at one point when they were putting it down/up it looked like it was playing roll over! haha.
